About our Company

For over 60 years the Giles family has been creating fine memorials. Herman Giles began a life-long career as a memorial craftsman back in 1946. He worked his way up through all aspects of the monument industry as a master craftsman before starting his own family business in Waxahachie, Texas in 1967.

Giles Monument Company has proudly served the families of Ellis County for over 4 decades. We also serve many parts of the surrounding counties of Dallas, Kaufman, Navarro, Hill, Johnson and Tarrant County. On occasion, our clients have liked our work enough to have our memorials shipped hundreds of miles to them.

Kathy and Perry Giles joined the family business in 1976. We are proud of our long family heritage in the memorial industry and because of this, each memorial is hand crafted with great care. We will design, carve and inscribe your memorial in our studio workshop in Waxahachie. We are not a large mass producer of monuments, but rather take the time to carve memorials one at a time to insure the quality that we demand.

Perry Giles has attained the designation of Certified Memorialist (CM), the highest honor of professional achievement as awarded by the national trade association, the Monument Builders of North America. Combining service to the industry and the community, continuing education, and passing an extensive exam has confirmed our commitment to the memorial profession and the families that we serve.

We specialize in custom designed granite memorials and will help you personalize a memorial to your desires. One of our specialties is carving deep sculptured roses and floral designs. Many other monument companies will only offer to "flat" carve your memorial.
